My name is Susan Youmans, host of "What's For Dinner?" I have a toe in many camps having to do with food and agriculture and life experience to critique them. -Eater and mother. Granddaughter of Ohio farmers. Field manager at a new community farm. Longtime member of the Community Food Security Coalition. Community organizer. Seminary graduate. Wharton MBA. Former management consultant. This show is about "the food system". Meet the people making it happen and the arguments concerning: Sustainable agriculture, industrial agriculture, farmers' markets, and commodities markets, Bodegas and destination supermarkets, Landless peasant movements, international corporations, farmer coops and monopolies like we haven't seen for generations. Food and agriculture underlie individual and national security and make life worth living or hard to survive all over the world. Let's explore it all as it keeps happening. -You listen and be in touch. I'll keep it interesting! |
