Interviews with Connecticut Attorney General
Richard Blumenthal, and Senator Mary Handley-(D) Conn. in regards to legislation
being submitted, making court-appointed Gaurdian Ad Litem's liable for legal
malpractice claims based on how they manage the affairs and best interest of the
children the GAL's represent. A significant number of Connecticut's family
custody cases have serious comlaints about court-appointed GAL's having no legal
accountability, and operating under pretenses of legal immunity, and autonomy
which doesn't currently exist. Senator Mary Handley is seeking the formation of
a commission that can suspend the juris license a of practicing attorney when
evidence shows that parent complaints are being ignored.
